Skymanta
Natural basis: manta ray + squid fins + convergent evolution of gliders
- Role
- ControllerArtillerist
Hardly ever flaps its "wings", reads air pressure with its feelers, can circle over one massif for hours and descends vertically by changing the curve of its membranes.
Origin
Thought to be a rare high-mountain line whose ancestors glided between cliffs and gradually came to rely on constant updrafts.
Appearance
A wide lavender sky ray with its face on its body, two thick triangular wings with cream chevrons, two short sensors and a wedge tail.
Signature ability
Sky Arc
An electric wave across the densest cluster of enemies (3×3): 220 damage (×1.5 against targets that moved) and Staggered for 2 s.
Passive trait
Barometric Feelers
Skymanta sees upcoming changes to air Fields and gains boosted Control when acting in line with the airflow.
Moves

Sky Arc
Signature move
Charge / Impulse
An electric wave ripples across its wide membrane and strikes an area.

Vertical Stall
Gale / Maneuver
Drops height abruptly, dodging an aimed attack.

Pressure Dome
Gale / Field
Bends the paths of ranged projectiles and lowers enemies' Tempo.

Storm Reading
Charge / Support
Marks every target that used Charge or Gale during the current cycle.
Evolution
Line E-02: Sky Ray
Mantarin → Skymanta
Condition: a long life in high mountain lakes and constant use of powerful updrafts.
Mantarin’s broad fins grow lighter and larger, and its sensitivity to electric fields is gradually joined by a sense of air pressure. Skymanta becomes almost independent of water, turning the original manta silhouette into a true airborne glider.
