Natural basis: narwhal + sensory tusk

Detects subtle changes in the water, finds breathing holes under the snow, communicates with clicks and uses its tusk more as a sensor than a weapon.

Origin

Its tusk became a huge sensory organ that gauges the salinity, temperature and pressure of the water near the ice edge.

A short gray-blue narwhal with a large head, a separate thick, short probe tusk with two blue stripes, two flippers and a wide tail.
