EV-138Evolved form

Neongeck

Natural basis: house gecko + artificial night lighting

Role
ScoutHunter

Runs up vertical glass, shifts the saturation of its pattern to match the lighting, hunts near signs and is barely bothered by city noise.

Origin

Insects gathered around lamps, and the geckos followed them. Their skin grew better at blending in on glass, plastic and painted walls.

Appearance

An opaque lilac gecko with two blue stripes and one pink stripe, big eyes and four thick three-lobed suction-pad feet.

Evolution

Line E-20: Neon Gecko

Geckglint → Neongeck

Condition: a long life near glass, plastic and artificial light.

The reflective micro-scales shift from shielding against the sun’s heat to controllable color camouflage. The body shape stays almost the same, so the link between the forms is easy to see.
