Tarsix

Natural basis: tarsier + night vision

Role
HunterScout

Sees faint ultraviolet patterns on plants and insects, leaps many times its own body length and can turn its head almost all the way around.

Origin

Hunting fast insects at night led to bigger eyes and the ability to judge distance instantly before a jump.

Appearance

A sandy tarsier with a head nearly twice as wide as its small body, two enormous golden eyes, tiny ears, short mitten paws and blocky feet.

Evolution

Line E-25: Arboreal Primate

Tarsix → Galagor → Vinemur

First evolution: leaping hunts strengthen the hind limbs and hearing, and the tail becomes an active counterbalance.

Second evolution: a permanent life in the dense canopy makes a grasping tail more valuable than a long leap. Plant partners settle on the skin, letting Vinemur use vines almost as an extension of its body.
