Origin
It lived on hardened lava fields, where its glossy black pattern both camouflaged its body and helped it warm up quickly in the morning.
Appearance
A low charcoal monitor lizard with a gray belly, a wide angular head, three blue plates on its back and two on its short tail.
Signature ability
Obsidian Rush
Dashes up to 2 tiles: 260 damage to enemies within radius 1 of the target (×1.5 against Exposed), then they are Exposed for 4 s; Obsivaran is Fortified (+60) for 4 s.
Passive trait
Black Glass
On a bright Light or Heat Field, Obsivaran heats up faster: its Force rises, but if the heat builds for too long, its Adaptation starts to drop.
Moves

Obsidian Rush
Signature move
Mineral / Strike
A heavy plated strike, especially strong against an Exposed target.

Black Heat
Heat / Support
Raises Force at the cost of some Adaptation.

Glass Tail
Mineral / Reaction
Counterattacks an enemy with the sharp edge of a plate.

Cool Belly
Heat / Support
Sheds built-up overheating and removes Exhaustion.
Evolution
Line E-19: From Venom to Obsidian
Gilatox → Lavizard → Obsivaran
First evolution: constant contact with hot rock shifts its defenses from chemical to thermal; the skin becomes porous and heat-resistant.
Second evolution: on old lava fields the outer plates turn smooth, dark and glassy. Obsivaran is a heavy terminal form built to move among sharp volcanic rocks.
