Maplewing
EV-021Evolved form

Maplewing

Natural basis: flying squirrel + maple samaras

Role
ScoutHunter

Can spin itself into a spiral to brake, carries light seeds over long distances and almost never drops straight down.

Origin

In forests of tall, widely spaced trees, ordinary gliding wasn't enough. Its asymmetric tail let it control spin and change direction sharply in midair.

Appearance

A ginger squirrel with two stiff plate wings, two hind legs and a short, solid tail made of two samara blades.

Signature ability

Seed Flourish

Scatters sharp seeds along a 3-cell line: 110 damage.

Passive trait

Spiral Brake

After a long-range Maneuver, the next incoming hit has reduced accuracy.

Moves

  • Samara Glide

    Gale / Maneuver

Glides in an arc, bypassing ground obstacles.

  • Seed Flourish

    Signature move

    Growth / Impulse

Scatters sharp seeds along its path.

  • Whirl Stop

    Gale / Reaction

Spins sharply and changes direction just before impact.

  • Canopy Marker

    Growth / Support

Marks a safe spot; an ally gains a Tempo bonus while moving toward it.

Evolution

Line E-07: Gliding Canopy

Cachirrel → Maplewing → Furwing

Condition: a gradual move from park and ground caches to life high in the forest canopy.

Cachirrel first develops short, controlled glides and Maplewing’s forked tail. In the final form the gliding membrane stretches across almost the entire body, turning Furwing into a specialized long-distance glider.
